The Service makes provision to adopters pre and post adoption which includes training and assessment; to support child care workers in preparing children for permanence; to link children with prospective adoptive families; to provide support and advice to adoptive families post adoption order and to support individuals affected by adoption. The Service has developed and expanded in recent years with attention being focused on both the recruitment of adopters and preparing children for permanence. Working within a regional service enables a greater choice of adoption placements for children originating from West Wales.
