This is an exciting and unique opportunity to work in a combined role within the Registration Service. We are looking for two experienced administrators to join our small, busy team and help people at some of the most important times of their lives.
The combined role is a minimum of 22.5 hours per week at Grade 4 (£18,933 - £19,698) with the requirement to work variable hours up to 37 hours depending on service requirements. These hours will be worked across Monday – Sunday so a high degree of flexibility is required. Occasional overtime beyond 37 hours may be required at particularly busy times. You will need to have a high degree of self-motivation and commitment, have good organisational skills, exceptional attention to detail and an empathetic but professional personality.
You will provide a first-class front-line service point to all our internal and external customers and so will need to demonstrate excellent inter-personal and communication skills. In addition to using the Microsoft Office suite of applications, you will use the Registration Online IT system and a number of other bespoke systems for which training will be given.
You will receive training to enable you to register births and deaths and provide other registration services. This aspect of the combined role attracts a salary upgrade to Grade 6 (£21,748 – £24,491).
You will also receive training to register marriages at locations across the County and assist at other celebratory events throughout Pembrokeshire, with these duties being paid on Grade 5 (£20,092 - £21,322). Good handwriting is essential for this role.
Due to the nature of the service post holders will be required to work weekends on a rota basis throughout the year, with members of staff being prepared to work a minimum of three weekends out of four (unless on leave) at peak times of demand (primarily but not exclusively during the summer period).
Welsh language skills are desirable but must be learnt on appointment.
You will also have the opportunity to enrol on the National Accreditation Programme Qualification in Registration.

We are pleased to offer this role, which will support the Foster Panel process in an administration capacity. In the role, you will organise the agenda for the foster panel, liaising directly with the manager and social workers in the Family Placement Team, Foster Panel Chair, panel members and applicants. You will facilitate the meetings and be responsible for taking accurate minutes and completing all the necessary pre and post-panel paperwork and processes. You will work to set timescales ensuring information and documentation are provided for all stakeholders while working closely with the Head of Service in the process.
In addition, this position will see you take on a Team Leader role within the Business Support Unit. Here you will aid the Business Support Manager by overseeing parts of the administrative team supporting Children’s Services, providing advice and guidance when needed. You will ensure performance remains high and feed into reports or statistical analysis.
